African Drum Village

The first and only drum festival in Scotland

Quotes When I first arrived at African Drum Village (ADV) which is set in the beautiful setting of Glen Isla a charming community close to the borders of Perthshire and Angus, Scotland I arrive on my own but within the first day I had met so many new friends. Yes these were true friends who showered me with so much friendship and hospitality that I found it hard to keep up. The friendship at ADV is just part of being a community of friends who meet each year at this beautiful spot to enjoy 5 days of Music, Dance Song and so much more and the only thing you will find hard going at ADV is when it is time to leave. Yes I will be back at ADV next year to celebrate their tenth anniversary but more so to share in this fantastic culture that you only find by knowing so many good and honest people. Quotes

Quotes Back from African drum village, wow, last week was one of the best weeks in a long time....forgot all my worries and stresses. What a truely magical place adv is, and all that is in it, the people, friends, new and old, the children, seeing them grow each year developing into their own little gorgeous individuals, musical talents, the fabulous artists, teachers, musicians, workshops, performances,.....I could go on nd on and on and on, purely beause there is sooooo much more I could say. We had sunshine too :-) I am just so pleased that I can be part of something like this....even the 10 hour journey just me and Marley there then back a week later was all part of the fun....and I got us there with out the use of sat nav :-) is a week in another world from my point of view....coming back to this world is somewhat depressing in some ways......massive - huge - big thanks Quotes
festival goer 2012

Quotes ADV 2012 was my 7th ADV and had to have been the most relaxed atmosphere yet. So many friends to catch up with but also some new friends who I hope were made to feel very welcome and made new friends through the week. In spite of the bad weather leading up to the festival we had a lot of sunshine which made it even more special. A huge thanks to everyone who crewed for all their hard work put in, to my lovely Steve for making this happen each year, to all the teachers and performers and to everyone who comes and puts their heart and soul into making it such a special place to be. It certainly proves that special things come in small packages, in the beautiful setting of Glen Isla. See you all next year xx Quotes

Happy Festival Goer

Quotes Many thanks to all for five wonderful nights of performances in the hall this year. All the artists performed to exceptionally high standards. The performances were fantastic, but the vibe created by a spirited, delighted and willing audience will last long in memory. And thanks to all the ADV crew for their huge commitment and damn hard work in making ADV this year so special. Quotes

Quotes I cant really explain how much my first ADV has chilled me out without going into mind-numbing detail. As I said to a few folk I think it is a singularity of loveliness. I shall be back next year with a plan to take full advantage of the learning opportunities on offer. Thanks to all of you. Quotes

Quotes That was quite possibly the best ADV I've had. Sun was shining, dodgy strap marks, hill walking, dancing cows, rain (but no much), lots of guitar practice, chilling, French game of boules(can't remember the correct name, occasional workshops, bestest ever tent puttin up an away, awesome singing, dancing, drinking, amazing music. Very inspiring. However, We realised we were still shouting at each other in the car, now in Aberdeen, still walking around looking like tramps, singin to music in shops and dancing randomly to the music..and for some reason every song sounds a bit African :-) Here's to next year, hope its a good one X Quotes
